[Take Armenia from the Romans!] - {W1} - I have never had a problem getting this mission but I know the basic factor for getting it are being neighbor to Byzantium and Armenia not already existing. To beat this mission I generally turn all my Satraps on supportive and then hire 30-40 mercs, each in stacks of 5 a piece. I then send them to siege the wargoal and neighboring stuff that I should conquer. The mountains and low pip values allow your Satraps plenty of time to reinforce wherever Byz attacks from. After taking about half of Anatolia like this I turn my Satraps loose and disband all the mercs and then what until I can get war reperations and all the land for Armenia. You will be heavily in debt; but, Byz will usually get into several more wars and be crippled for the rest of the game.
[Estabilish a Mesopotamian Buffer State] - {E1} - This mission can only be taken in the first day of the game because of the Mamluks changing to Egypt bug.
----- To fix this go to wherever your mods are (you will need something that allows you to unzip them) open up "veritas_gob", open "missions", then open "VEF_Persian_missions.txt". Once you are in the notepad file press ctrl+f to open the search function, then type in MAM to the search function and search. Only 1 instance of it exists and it is a line that says exists = MAM delete that line save the notepad file and start eu4 with VeF and VeF - GoB on. Now the mission can appear aslong as Babylon does not exist.-----
After you fix this the mission is not that hard I would make vassals supportive again at the start of the war but just use the 22 guys you started the war with in 5-6 guy stacks to siege and your Satraps can reinforce you until Egypt/Mamluks have depleted their manpower then set you Satraps loose. (This is a good time to take the province of Tadmor so that the Western Satrap Missions will begin.)
[Force Islam from the Persian Gulf!] - {E2} - I have never had a problem with this mission activating either as long as I have Babylon so I am fairly certain that is the only requirement. I would highly recommend pausing when the event to release Najd comes up and doing it yourself so that he is Zorastrian and not Islamic. I have not noticed any negative conqequences for doing this and it is a way to get around him backstabbing whoever is sieging Mecca because of the Mecca Jihad mechanic.
[Re-establish the Satrapy of Judea/Vassalize the Kingdom of Jerusalem] - {E3} - for this to appear you have to have land next to Jerusalem (Tadmor is a good choice) and Jerusalem can not be a vassal of anyone else. He is obviously weak but allies Egypt and Byz most of the time so unless you have been getting Armenia back all his cores you might have to deal with an annoying purple country sending mercenary hordes at you while trying to siege the massive Jerusalem fort. Completing this mission turns Jerusalem's government into a Satrap and gives you +1 stability and +100 of each monarch point so it is quite nice. Note: You will get one of two possible missions depending on if Jerusalem still exists or not.
*It is very important that you take Damascus from Jerusalem if he still has it BEFORE you vassal him!
[Reclaim the Satrapy of Aegyptus/Vassalize Egypt] - {E4} - The major probelm with this mission is that you will need to be neighboring Egypt to get it. If Jerusalem has a core near Egypt you can war for that and give it to yourself then accept the mission and sell Jerusalem back his core so that you don't have to waste diplo points taking land you are about to give back to Coptic Egypt because he will be your vassal. Note: You will get one of two possible missions depending on if Egypt still exists or not.
----- The Vassalize Egypt mission is broken you will have to go back to the notepad. (follow the instructions given after the Meso Buffer State mission to get there) search for "is_subject_of = PER" there are only 6 instances of it in the notepad the 3rd one from the top is the one you need to modify for this mission to work properly. In the line right before "is_subject_of = PER" copy and paste "EGY = { " then just use your arrow keys to go right until you pass the first } press the right arrow one more time and your insert cursor should be in an area with nothing (it should look like this: } "|" effect) and a right bracket( } ) there and you can save your notepad and the event will fire properly now.
[Establish a Syrian Buffer State] - {W2} - To get this mission you need Armenia to exist and Jerusalem to be your vassal or not exist at all. Hopefully you took Damascus from Jerusalem or you will have to do some cheating and switch over to Jerusalem and declare war on Persia then switch back over to Persia and steal Damasucs in the independence war you just started with yourself. If you read the * earlier then you have Damascus and you only need 3 provinces from Byzantium to finish this mission which should not be to hard. It is also a good idea to take a 1 base tax coastal province from Byz during this war so that you don't have to depend on Jerusalem, Syria, or Armenia for the next mission.
[Control the Eastern Islands Satrapy] - {W3} - never had problems with this one appearing either, just need to make sure you have boats in the Mediterranean Sea. Even though this Satrapy is small he is a great help because he will actually build a navy which your other vassals generally won't do.
[Push the Romans out of Anatolia Satrapy] - {W4} - no problems with this one either just make sure you never give Armenia any land that he does not have cores on or you might accidentally give him the land you need to form Lydia.
[Create a Satrapy of Greece] - {W5} - The Final push to finish the Satrap Missions and live out your Xerxes I/Darius I fantasies, fairly easy with your 14+ Satrap hordes.
[Conclusion] - Now you are hemorrhaging diplomatic points and can effectively dominate anyone in the near east or Europe with your Satrap hordes. The only thing left to do is centralize and modernize Persia.
*Please leave a comment and friend me if you need anymore help with the notepad stuff. I can message you to help you through it.
Can is the wrong word. You mean is.
@Golladan Do you want me to include the broken stuff on the bug reporting thread too or do you know what I am talking about and it is fixed in newest version?
