Kind of sounds like you just described the real hundred years war, England is super hard in the start I usually try to get castille allied to me and then try to make france fight a war on 2 fronts. They don't pull stacks out of their ass btw, look at the military ledger they probably have a ton of mercenaries and are bleeding money. In my wars with France I usually go 60-80 loans in debt because I get a stack of 20ish mercs

An addition for how to do well as England: If you are not expert enough to beat France (or possibly don't mind save scumming) you can always give up those lands, they actually hurt you as England. If you just take Britain and Ireland in Europe you can have by far the largest/strongest navy in the game. No European power will be able to touch you because they can't invade you and you can blockade their whole country, letting war exhaustion build up until you can get a favorable peace deal. This frees you up to colonize and invade Africa/India/Asia, if you can dominate West Africa then you can control most of the trade in the world through that one node. If you really feel the need to invade Europe after you expand in Asia and America you can always take a German minor as a vassal, annex them, then hire hundreds of mercs to invade whoever you want.

thanks for the tip but I actually figured out a way to dismantal france and destroy them without really losing to many battles.
