In the mod files in the Documents folder. Documents>Paradox Interactive>EU4>mod>vef.zip>common>country_colors>00_country_colors.txt

Then I go to Germany and change ( 255 255 255 ) and its other colors to ( 0 49 83 ) and save it. But if I reopen the file, its back to the original RGB.

The map color for each country is in the individual country files in common/countries

So when I go to the germany.txt file in the countries files, it does the same thing. Can you tell me what I have to do to make it stay?

Since it's in a zip file it might be preventing you from overwriting it. Try getting the file out of the zip file. Change it outside. And then dropping it back inside.

Thats what I ended up doing, but it cant unzip everything, and its missing something important since the provinces are vanilla. As for unziping the file and putting it back in, when I try to compress it back, it says it failed to compress as it is corrupt or something.

Don't unzip the whole file. Open the zip file, navigate to the location of the file in question, and drag and drop the file you want to edit it to somewhere, like the desktop. Edit it there. Then drag and drop it back inside the zip file.

I take the countries file out and change germany's colors but when I put it back in and it recompresses, I get "Access to the compressed(ziped) folder Documents/Paradox/EU4/mod/vef.zip is denied."

Well it seems I have gottten it to work for now. I unziped the whole mod and changed the .mod file and changed it and it works fine now. Thx for the help though.

What about if I wanted to change the colors of a formable country? I wanted to change the Roman Empire into a a darker red than what you guys have.

Process is the same. You just need to find the appropriate country file.
