Can't colonize Siberia in 1650 as Poland
I crushed all russian states. There is just Poland and vast Siberia. I cannot colonize it thou and its 1650 already. Why?

Yes I have colonist. Was able to colonize only 4 Siberia provinces like 100 years ago. I though new will open gradually, but nothing is happening.

"This area is too remote and inhospitable to be permanently settled".

Hell NO! I am colonizing souther tip of South America and still cant have Mezen or Komi! Blasphemy!

I had event with Semyon Ivanovich Dezhnyov - Siberia explorer. I got him on my service (nice +100% colonization range). A lot of Siberian provinces get visible (plus Alasca of course). Still I just can only watch it and cry...

Stay out of war for a while. The event has a MTTH of 600 months.

Thank you for looking at this topic.

I dont understand MTTH = 600 months. What is this & how it works? Please give some examples how it works.

What being at war or have been recently has to do with Siberia colonization?

I can colonize Canada, Chile or Africa. Why cant do the same for neighbour provinces to my 150 years old cores?

What is the exact event for colonizing Siberia?

Anything in Siberia that did not open over time when there were still Russians around will open up all at once some time after 1620. This event has a mean time to happen of 600 months. That means that as long as the conditions are true, there is roughly a 1 in 600 chance each month of you getting that event.

One of the conditions for the event is that you are not at war. So if you are constantly at war, there is a very low chance of you seeing that event.

Something you could do is release one of the russian minors near Siberia as your vassal and let it neighbor Siberia. As long as they have the Siberian Frontier national idea neighboring provinces will begin opening up for colonization.
