Why can I not support Burgundy's independence?
Playing as England, trying to support Burgundy's independence to get them loose from France, but despite Burgundy having the green checkmark next to Support Independence, the tooltip says "The government of Burgundy doesn't allow this action."

I looked up Burgundy's current government: http://wiki.veritasetfortitudo.com/index.php/Hereditary_Monarchy and it says nothing about independence. I don't see any intuitive reason why this form of government would prevent it, either. What do I have to do to be able to support Burgundy's independence?

It is not actually because of Burgundy's government but because of France's; in order for their vassals to be able to fight one another their govenrment type doesn't allow you to support the independence of their vassals (the feature is used for Japan's vassals in vanilla). Once they consume their other vassals and reform their government then you will be able to support the Burgundians (who will still be around at that point); also Burgundy has a decision that allows them to switch sides if France is losing badly enough to England.
