1) Verify your game cache (Go to Library > Games > right click Left 4 Dead 2 > Properties > Local Content > Verify integrity of game cahce)
2) Type in 'mission_reload' in the console and tell me if any errors happen

Try verifying your game cache for starters. If that doesn't work, tell me and I can think up of other solutions.
1) Launch L4D2
2) Unsubscribe to this map
3) Quit L4D2
4) Subscribe to this map
5) Launch L4D2
Both of you should follow these steps, just to ensure that you both have the exact same .bsp downloaded in your files. I've had this problem with beta testers as well; the workshop was all wonky and wouldn't download everything correctly.
If that doesn't work, try disabling some of your addon model replacements mods. I would suggest any pistol or pipe bomb replacement mods, I was disconnected from others' games because of them. Or disable all of them all together just to ensure joining someone else's game.
If none of that still works, try verifying the integrity of your game cache and give it a go.
