Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Do I need the Odyssey DLC to play this mod?
A: Yes. Chapter 1 is built entirely around Odyssey’s orbital systems and vacuum mechanics.

Q: Will this mod break my saves?
A: It shouldn't. It should be possible to add it to an ongoing save, but your gravship might need to be tweaked and/or rebuilt due to the extensive changes this mod implements.

Q: Is this mod compatible with other gravship mods?
A: No. It’s a complete gravship overhaul and will conflict with anything that changes gravships. This can result in unwanted behaviors. If you encounter any unwanted behavior, consider disabling any other gravship-altering mods.

Q: How do I get my first gravship?
A: Either choose the Gravship Start scenario or complete the Runaway Gravjumper quest that appears mid-game.

Q: My pawns are dying in orbit. why?
A: They’re probably suffocating! Make sure your ship is airtight, has oxygen pumps, and vacuum-resistant gear. Remember that oxygen now depletes passively in the ship, so make sure not to run out!

Q: How do I make Astrofuel?
A: Refine Chemfuel into Astrofuel using the Astrofuel Synthesizer or Refinery.

Q: How do I get oxygen?
A: Build Oxygen Harvesters, Algae Oxygenators, or grow Oxyalgae in hydroponics to produce oxygen.

Q: Is this all there is to the mod?
A: Chapter 1 lays the foundation: survival, systems, and ship management. Chapter 2 will expand into combat and inter-ship warfare. Further Chapters will expand into other aspects of my sci-fi space fantasy.

Q: What's the difference between various gravship classes?
A: Gravjumpers are ideal for small crews or even solo runs. Their launch ritual relies heavily on a single pilot. Gravships are your standard large flying bases that rely in part on a bigger crew and the ship itself. Gravhulks are massive flying fortresses that rely heavily on massive crews.

Q: How can I improve my launch ritual success chance?
A: Check out the infographics to see what affects the particular ritual - remember, every ship class has their ritual affected by other things!

Q: Can I have several gravships?
A: No. The base game bugged out greatly if more than one gravship was found. With how extensive this overhaul is, the issues multiplied and became much worse. We have introduced failsafes that will prevent you from launching if more than one gravship is found.

Q: How big can a gravship get now?
A: About 3x bigger than what Odyssey DLC allowed. Remember: Bigger gravships become harder to land and may force you to take some damage upon crashing into mountains and stuff.

Q: My gravdata yield is super low. Why?
A: It scales directly with the quality of your launch ritual, as well as the gravdata research skill of your gravtech researcher. Improve both to improve your gravdata yield.

Q: If this is Chapter 1, can future Chapters be added to an ongoing save?
A: Yes! Future chapters will be able to be added to an ongoing save!

Q: Does this mod work with Save Our Ship 2?
A: It’s unlikely, as we both change gravships heavily. SoS2 will remain focused on space ships. Our focus is on Gravships themselves. You’re welcome to try to run them both, but I expect it won’t work. Sorry for lack of definitive answer.

Q: Why doesn't my grav engine generate power?
A: Grav engine power generation scales based on how much substructure you're using up compared to your limit. If you remove some substructure, the power generated will go up.

Progression: Gravship has been confirmed by author to be compatible and supported.
