Holding down appears to turn off vertical gravity/preserve vertical velocity.
For example:
You tap spacebar to jump while holding down and proceed to continuously float up.
If you hit any blocks during this state, you will simply hover at the same height for as long as
you keep holding your down key.
Any knockback (or other change in velocity) will push you into its corresponding direction for as long as you want.
This also has the side effect of making platforms a nuisance, because you are only able to fall through platforms by briefly tapping down, as holding down will make you move at a snail's pace.
While gravity is turned off, you may freely move to the left and right as usual.
Gravity will resume at any point you release down.
Note:
I am able to exploit this to the point where I have de facto infinite flight with just the fledgling wings, using my flight time for very brief moments to course correct if I need to.
On an interesting note, gliding will behave as normal and even accelerate me until I am falling at the intended speed.
Some less significant, but potentially impactful bugs
The negative works as expected when picked while playing offline.
However, when either joining a world as a client or hosting one yourself, it will re-apply the effect and delete everything below the player's spawning location.
This happens whenever the host or another player joins the world, and may be repeated indefinetly.
Sometimes when spawning in, it deletes blocks next to the player instead, potentially resulting in extremely wide pits over time.
Unfortunately I was unable to replicate that secondary bug consistently.
The merfolk buff received from the positive does not provide water breathing.
Other parts of the merfolk buff work fine, you just cannot breathe underwater and still drown as a merfolk.
Note:
Potentially overrides speed increases provided by other equipment.
This has only been tested with the victide armor set from calamity and needs additional testing regarding vanilla items.
While in the settings menu, your health and mana UI are still visible.
Modded blocks, regardless whether their name contains an 'e' or not, damage the player on contact.
Note:
This bug was replicated with blocks from the following mods:
- Calamity Mod
- Thorium Mod
- Spirit Classic
Two blocks of each mod were tested, none of their names contained the letter "e", all blocks dealt damage when touched.Edits: Formatting and spelling errors
