At the current time the world stands on the edge of ruin. After a highly dangerous virus, the WZ-AD001 virus, was released everything changed. Once infected a person transforms into a flesh-eating monster fused with plants. In the first years nearly 70% of all humanity was infected. However over time all the infected disappeared to the Southern Hemisphere. Because of this there are no more “Plombies” (name given to the infected) in the regions of Sweden.

There is however the military organization The Cross (TC) which together with another group deliberately created and unleashed this virus. Before the virus consumed the Earth the originators covered everything up and deliberately fled to the stars. The virus was designed through genetically altered cells to turn hosts into so-called “fertilizer” making it possible to regrow vegetation on the planet and eliminate other pollutants. The creators planned to return after many years and repopulate the Earth.

But their plan failed: only the Southern Hemisphere was regrown yet it is still uninhabitable since the plants think and hunt like a swarm.

The Cross was deployed to wipe out all remaining survivors.

The player sets out on a journey towards Safe Zone 7 in hope of protection. Along the way he discovers old secrets and what remains of the attacks of the infected.
