MADNESS: Project Nexus

The Supermall Addendum
A Great Start to the Campaign Modding Potential
Okay so I will give an honest opinion, and because this is the first custom side-story, I'd give it a solid 7/10. There's a lot of consideration put into this, but there's still a few nicks and knacks that make it less enjoyable. Here's the rundown:

A Super Trooper
You play as a (Super) Trooper who's been tasked to figure out what happened to Dig Site 01. Just like Nevada, it's not without its problems; a so-called "unknown" force is trying to stop you from proceeding with the operation. As you progress through each section, the difficulty surprisingly jumps. I beat the story with six attempts (five deaths) and it's paciing is good. Since the trooper only has Level 2 Skills, you're limited to certain things like dual wielding, recoil control and so on. BUT, that is to say that this fits the fights entirely since the game takes place around your Arena Character's third mission.

Harsher enemies
The enemies are relentless and I mean that. They can be super annoying, until I saw the almighty Fire Axe. You're bound to die a bit more in tight spaces, especially with the second and third section if you're not careful (I happened to beat it on my first encounter). They could tone it down a little bit in terms of quantity, but overall it is a little more lenient on the challengers side. Your health is more prone to mistakes, so there's a bit of strategy being involved in this blazing story.

STAIRS... and indicators
Obviously you're playing a campaign with mods, and that being said, there's bound to be glitches and bugs. The stairs are a bit annoying and you can get stuck on the tables in the cafeteria. There's also a few times where an area could have used some indicators (I didn't expect an RPG to fire onto a car the moment I slid to pick up a gun) but overall they were very minor.

The Map
Honestly, the way the map is presented is very fun. I love the gimmick in the arcade, the vent mechanic was expanded a tad bit and so on. Musics are also a banger (absolutely groovy) and so are the posters. They're pretty fun, but I've yet to find all the contents in this campaign. It's such a fast story, but it works, and the format is sublime.

Overall
It's great. Not the best, but a really good start into the modding campaign potential. If they can make that, I'm sure the campaigns following this will be even more better, more chaotic and more dynamic. We know this isn't the end and I'm sure it'll bring its full potential in a different way.
