Awesome finish, have you thought about spicing it up a bit though?

If youre going into the chinese direction, why not add some gold?
Also, have you thought about making the wood look more badass? For example, giving it a rather scratchy instead of a glossy look could do a lot.

Just my thoughts on the skin. The concept looks great, but I always like having a "beast" instead of a shopwindow weapon.

I would recommend changing the fish into a dragon as well.. I just keep thinking of magikarp when I see this.

Edit: It's a very nice skin though, good job!

@Nell : first of all, FYI, it's not a chinese inspired collection, but a japanese one ;)
That been said, I wanted to have a kind of balance between ancestral / historical symbols and a modern finish. Balance you can find on a daily basis in Japan and its culture.

Anyway, thanks a lot guys for your feedback. I really appreciate.

@Hanzo, my bad but kois are also really present in china too, i.e. black and a white koi stand for yin yang. But I have to admit I understand your pov because the koi is very well manga like drawn. It looks marvelous. Thats one of the reasons NOT to change the koi to a dragon @FM FATALIS, We already have enough of that, and it would break the whole concept doing such a major change. Also, don't take my opinion as final, its just MY thoughts on a very nice skin. Finding a balance is hard, and because of that I don't want to push you to edit something that you don't identify with later. My idea behind adding gold, was referring to the fish scales. Think about it, retexturing some of them doesnt hurt the balance while on the other hand it makes the fish look marvelous.

Just my opinion, no hate. (ﾉ◕ヮ◕)ﾉ*:･ﾟ✧

@Nell. I totally get your point of view man and what you said makes a lot of sense. I always appreciate constructive criticism, good or bad. So thanks again for sharing your insight on it :)
