I actually appreciate the towns being a little sparse, some maps look really cool but just run poorly especially when you add AI / build a mission ontop of it because the towns are to dense / too many objects in one place.
Final suggestions would be to maybe consider some trenches / dugouts around the map, and maybe a few more basements and if possible some variations of basements so they're not all identical.
Either way really cool map, excited to see how it goes.
Regarding the roads and empty areas — yes, I’ll take care of that, but at the same time, I don’t want to make roads that lead nowhere. So, it will be done, but it’ll take quite some time :)
As for the trenches, I don’t think they’ll be placed on the map — players can add them themselves. That way, they’ll have more opportunities to play out different scenarios from various sides, etc. I don’t want to restrict anyone with fixed trenches or their specific locations on the map.
I'm sure this is more of a final polish pass feature rather than a focus right now, but if you do get around to that at some point, the Krayina terrain has some really good smooth transitions and variations i'd suggest looking at that for inspiration.
