If you get hit by the same move twice the damage gets reduced it doesn't matter witch adaptation youre using, the melee, tank and aura are for hit-cancel, the haste is for quicker moves, chase is for movment, projectiles is obvious and crush its for guard brakes.

does Mahoraga store the adaptation? or does it brake after using a different move?

the passive adaptation i think doesn't disappear, but the hit-cancel sometimes none of them works i don't know why, the others like crush or haste u can check the info and it says there

Also I think that when you keep a adaptation the healing increases
