I think you are right, the Winter Labrors mod could conflict with yours.

Thanks for reporting it. Try unsubscribing from it and see if the issue persists? Always good to double check. If this is really the problem I think I can add a non-compatibility check though melon loader to make this clearer in the future.

I'm having the same issue; all farms default back to 1 worker every spring; it is definitely a conflict with the Winter Labor mod. I think the behavior of your mod to reduce farmers to 1 during the winter is what is causing this issue.
