Less powerful ships ?
Hi. Being someone who have always followed your mods,I was happy to see a mod covering a critical part of Star Wars past. However and I assume it's due to the weaker technology of the era but the ships seems... Less powerful. By that I mean, I have the feeling that turbolasers actually fire slower than the ones found in TR for example. Just wanted to ask if it was a feeling or a feature.

I believe it's intentional, not because of weaker tech, but because it's a smaller scale mod (with the caveat that ships have been made larger to compensate)

It also fits canonically.

1) It's almost 4,000 years ago
2) Comparatively, it's warship designs and fleet strategies shifting over that same time frame. The biggest ship to my rememberance of this era and Pre Ruusan in general is the Inexpunginle, checking at 3 km. That is puny compared to the Battlecruisers, Star Dreadnaughts, and Super Star Destroyers of later eras (Mediator, Praetor, Malevolence, Mandator, Executor, Eclipse, Viscount, etc). The Kandosii and Centurion, respectively a Dreadnaught and Battlecruisers in their day, would struggle to beat out a Clone Wars era Venator or Alliance era MC-80/a Liberty, let alone getting torched by an Imperial I/II or MC-80/b or anything bigger. Same for the Kyramud and Interdictor. A Battleship and Star Destroyer in their day but in later eras, I don't think either could beat out a Victory I or II or either Assault Frigate. Even a basic Dreadnaught Cruiser could beat them 1 v 1.

3) I also think technology itself has advanced through the eras as well. If you look at it, guns fire slower and do less damage here. In all reality it's probably because the mod is in such an early stage but it could be canonically justified as well because of technological change.

So yes I do agree that it's probably by design in the mod but it can also be seen as Legends story reasons too!! 😁

I would have liked if there was a difference in weapons though. In KOTOR they say that shield technology had outpaced laser technology so it would be nice if this was reflected in the ships. That shields are very strong compared to hull and so anti-shield weaponry and missiles are meta and turbolasers slightly less so.

The slower firing also comes from the ships having fewer guns overall because they're smaller (but scaled up compared to the other mods). All turbolasers and ions across EAWX have the same base fire rate of 5 sec per barrel, so if a hardpoint shoots faster, it just means there are more guns represented by that hardpoint, which in Revan's Revenge is rarer.
