Protect Sector Issues
If you have an issue with mod, the debug file can help to understand a root cause.
Press Win + R keys
And paste the next command to run:
"%PROGRAMFILES(X86)%\Steam\steamapps\common\X4 Foundations\X4.exe" -debug all -logfile debug_protectsector.log -skipintro
Then press Enter.

Steam will ask you to confirm this non-standard run.
Please load the game as usual and do any problematic activities.

After that exit game, a please somehow delivery to me a file:
debug_protectsector.log

Usually it is located in folder "Documents\Egosoft\X4\your_steam_code\", on the same level with "save" folder.

Attack stations doesn't seem to work. They fly near the station, but don't do anything with it. Specifically I have issue with VIG stations in Windfall sectors after they re-appear (they are enemy faction)

Going off my comment

Not sure if a screenshot would show the issue.
Basically, as you've noticed whenever a ship completes an order such as taking out an enemy or flying and waiting a t a specific, they will send you a verbal message letting you know that the order has been completed.

However, I've noticed that ships or fleets that I've assigned to "Protect Sector" as a default order, who send an "Awaiting Orders" every the finish taking out an enemy or group enemies, or whenever the enemy they're targeting has been destroyed.
