Why is the dragoon shotgun not a module like the LMG, DMR and melee weapons?
You have to equip it manually, which can get a little annoying if you're using the suits for combat exclusively as you have to equip it every time you use the suit.

You have to equip it on the dragoon arm modules.

Also means that sometimes you'll have your pawns dismount and continue using the comically oversized gun for hunting and self defense if you have a mod conflict like simple sidearms or if they have are wearing a linear frame
