All of the code is open source and I plan on keeping Cloudbox up for as long as possible.

Pancakes plans to keep it up as long as possible, as said above. But I've been working on an "offline mode" which should hopefully be available in the next few weeks. You'll be able to browse and spawn any locally cached content when you're offline or if there's an issue connecting to the Cloudbox API.

I was actually going to ask about that, if I remember right, I remember ToyBox downloaded the maps so you were still able to play them without going through the menu. However, I have to find the map I want to play and select it through the menu.

Upcoming update (edit: it's live now!) adds the ability to spawn cached content offline, including maps. When the update has been pushed to Workshop, please check the spawn menu Options tab > Cloudbox > User and click the "View Local Cache / Offline Mode" button.

When you are actually offline or if the site has issues this view will display automatically, but the button is there to let you view it easily while online too.

You can view the live online Cloudbox again by clicking 'Reconnect' in the top right.


Unfortunately I don't think it's possible to add the maps to the main Gmod menu but I hope this is a good alternative.

is there a way to make the icons show up without being online with cached data!? cuz i cannot stand blank icons and i get lost trying to scroll finding something when the icons are blank!
