This most likely isnt the actual lore, but its what i think it is. Z'ortha is a bad guy and he was corrupt so the humans used their powers to make an artifical god and somehow it got in the void, so the void dude unleashed it (in hopes of being freed from z'ortha i think) and z'ortha killed the void dude and they had a fight with the artifical god
