Npcs being hostile
It says in the mod description that NPCs should be friendly on the first day unless attacked - I've repeatedly been ambushed by groups of civilians with melee weapons without attacking them, and it seems that this aggression also carries on into the next life if you create a new character in the same world/are on multiplayer

I tested it for a long time and watched dozens of streams by other players. The only case when they attack you is when you attack them first. If there is a different reason I haven't encountered it.

I've seen this bug as well, I think it may be related to NPCs somehow switching state into zombies but still counting as attacking an NPC when the player attacks them.

Is there a way to toggle attacking the friendly ones? I've had too many friendly fire moments which make them hostile.

Did you perhaps change the starting date of the Bandit clans?
I know I have changed all of my clans to 0 so they have a chance to spawn at start. Creating extra chaos :D

Had the same happen to me, both a civilian and one of the Haz-mat suited people.

Gangs. You are being murdered by gangs. They mostly come out at night... mostly. You can set them to 'incredibly rare' in the mod settings but it is 50/50 that works.Best way to deal with them is to find a ranged weapon fast or a vehicle.

I have noticed that if you have the Braven NPC mod enabled, sometimes the NPCs from your mod will attack. I got shot by police just walking down the street with Braven haha. So some people may experience that if they have that mod enabled in the start of a new game.
