Suggestion: Make a submod or an offshoot that doesn't have the NPCs but includes everything else
In my server we do not really have a need or want for friendly/hostile NPCs when we have 10+ players active. We already have NPC traders and questgivers.

If at all possible, it would be really cool to still be able to experience the bombing runs, sirens, fire, jets, and general chaos, but without the dudes following us around everywhere.

It would also potentially perform better.

I literally don't care, the 'foundation' is buggy and poorly tuned. Read my post again, we do not have use cases for roving bands of NPCs.

I like the idea of injecting chaos and bombing runs into the start of a playthrough and make it feel like the end of the world, without janky bots that can murder you very easily or follow you in groups of 30+ and completely break the balance of the game.

I looked at the code and it isn't even difficult to excise the NPCs anyway. Your answer is rude and dismissive at best.

very entitled. I'm going to say it for him. No you will not be getting that. Two reasons, first one being the mod in question isn't his mod. He did not make the bandit mod. Two, why the ♥♥♥♥ would he remove 50% of the mod just for you? ♥♥♥♥ everyone else who likes the NPC's right. Or better yet, lets have him spend time on a mod that only you want. That's a good use of time.

Understandable. Its just nice to have flexibility for performance and gameplay balance purposes.

Even a slider for bombing frequency and NPC spawn rate would be nice, as is imo there is too much, period, and server owners would benefit from being able to tailor that experience.
