Bug Reports.
Testing hit this thing pretty thoroughly, but hey, things can change.

there seems to be a bug that is not letting me open my research slots when I have the tech tree rework mod and compatibility patch enabled

You have another tech mod on that's causing conflict.

I have same issue as OP. Disabled Power armor reworked as only tech mod I otherwise play with and it is still same.

Same question, do you have the tech icon overhaul mod on?
nope, only tech mod im trying to use with it is the tech tree rework

you have two tech mods that are conflicting. I have long removed any interferance to the tech tree. So ID the two tech mods you got and choose one or the other

Seems the mod no longer works with Tech Expansion even with the compatibility patch. Only tech mods I have are Tech Expansion, and the Tech Expansion Materials mod, this and the patch. Tech tree won't open even when the materials mod is disabled. Will only open when both Road and Rail and patch are disabled.
