Also, are you planning to add stuff from Kane's Wrath?
Ha!
1) Honestly, I don't think CC would really be able to do the scrin any kind of justice. I'm not really a huge fan of them as a faction either- I mean, their gameplay in C&C3 was kinda fun, but on the whole I think they could have been handled much better post-TS.
2) That depends. Current material is a mix of Tiberian Sun, C&C 3, and Renegade. It's not impossible that some KW elements might make it in.
In theory, yes. In practice, CC's engine really doesn't play nice with giant/oversized actors, nevermind the Avatar was a goofy, gimmicky pain in the ass. The amount of time and effort that would have to go into such an actor would be better spent on other things.
Also will you be adding stuff from the god awful C&C 4?
Almost certainly not.
Thank god!
In the mod, or in general?
Not in the mod yet. I'm planning on digging up my old copy and looking at the sounds from it to see if they're any good/worth implementing.
Good for you. I don't need them right now, and I can sort it out myself when I do. Not that I don't appreciate the offer, but I like to do things in a reasonably orderly fashion. I'll look into it when I have the time.
-------------------------------
Renegade has the best gun references, and TS/3 have better infantry unit designs and references, particularly in the form of high-res concept art pieces. I like to think of this mod as being a sort of spinoff storyline where the liquid tiberium blast at Temple Prime never happened (and thus the Scrin never got involved), and technology has generally diverged here and there as a result.
Essence seems like an interesting project, but also doesn't seem like it would offer much new/interesting beyond alternative interpretations of various units.
-------------------------------
There is a quote that I feel applies to modding projects;
"A designer knows he has achieved perfection not when there is nothing left to add, but when there is nothing left to take away." - Antoine de Saint-Exupery
To summarize- what would such a thing add? I assume you're referring to the classic grey-silver colouration Nod units/etc. had in the TD campaigns, but even then, TD is loooong in the past.
At best, I might be able to give them a chance to spawn with a helmet, but I think it works better simply to keep them as-is.
