TPS wise - I found another trick recently when using RimSort (way better mod management than your basic Steam subscribe option - I have the game from GoG and it works perfect as well) . Re-download all your mods. When comparing new re-downloaded ones with my old backup, it seems that during normal updates quite a few mods had leftovers i.e. files that should have been deleted yet stayed there, being loaded to the game as well. Instant improvement.
Just make sure to backup any hand edited XMLs etc, so you can then copy these back.
Another massive improvement were these - in vanilla the whole contient seems one big inbreeding grounds with everybody related to each other. Unfortunately vanilla stores all those relations indefinitely, does not matter if an uncle of a cousin from mother grandma, dead since eon. This really hurts performance and increases save game size.
Both mods can be used separately, but also work great in tandem. My savegame size went from ~130 MB to 65 MB~. Massive performance improvement.

Use this one from dev menu ("clean") when necessary, i.e after big raids, visiting other settlements etc.

I normally have the "force run on game load" disabled and just enable this after big raids etc.
