First off, i'm not saying the lock insn't a neccessary feature, it is helpful to have for begging bombers, but what I found is that the JDAMS will guide themselves to their target even without a lock; as long as I'm within a reasonable range and heading at a reasonable speed, the bombs will guide themselves to the GPS/INS indicator.
