How difficult would it be to add a coaxial machine gun to the Scorpion tank?

Halo 1 and Halo 2 had this feature, but for some reason, every follow on game removed it. I can understand the multiplayer balance aspect on this. However, a coaxial machine gun is a basic fundamental feature of every single tank in existence.
