What language are you trying to play in?

If you're trying English, then something went wrong during the setup, try redoing it from scratch.

I deleted the kenshi and downloaded it back, did everything as you did, but nothing changed, the squares remained as they were.

Are you trying to play in English? It has not been tested with other languages.

Just to make sure, I just installed it on another computer and no issues here.

Well, you can check the latest changelogs to see what has been changed in the last few updates, but nothing should have messed with the font.

Can you try to run the game in English at least once and see if those squares (those mean a missing font usually by the way) are still there?

I smell something wrong with the translations you are using, but I could be mistaken of course.

To be honest, I don't know. As I said, this collection has only been tested in English, and given the amount of added content, it's not a real surprise that some things don't work properly in other languages.

You could try removing my "Stitched together UI" if you are using it, or adding it if you're not. Main suspect here are UI mods, but there hasn't been any changes to those in a long time.

Best guess would be to revert the last few updates following the changelogs I posted above mod by mod to see if you can find the actual culprit. But that would take quite some time that I can't spare right now, so you're on your own here.
