With your proposed recruitment pool would that entail unit caps or a draw down of a pool/ bank of units? I'll look into how the system in ME2 worked 👍
If it's a bank/ pool of units it might work like the ROR except higher pool caps and faster refill. Like a limit of ten, and refill two each turn. I'm just brain storming now but it's pretty interesting.
Black guard of naggorond and black deagon would retrain every 5 turns, a medusa and cold one knights every 3, and a dreadspear and non shield dark shard every turn. Etc.
This could also bring more strategy into the game. People using the mod would to have use all sorts of units instead of solely relying on the units that then can create doomstacks with. That would be possible with unit caps. But I think a recruitment pool would be more organic if done correctly.
I don't know how difficult this could be. But just some ideas. Good luck if you decide to try and make such a mod!
