I downloaded a save editor to edit .sav files which is how our M&B file save games are stored as. I used the Warbender save editor from: https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php?topic=376717.0
Open your save game in the save editor, make sure you use a backup.
Now this is the part that took me the longest amount of time because of my inexperience. I initially thought the crafting screen was a menu; however, it is not listed as a menu ID. Turns out in the data files the game considers the crafting menu as looking through an NPC's inventory. The problem that was causing my crashes is that there was a certain armor item that when chosen instantly crashes the game.
Now to fix the issue:
Go into the save editor and search for "craft" in the search bar. The items you are looking for will be in the "Item Kinds" tab and all have the term, "Crafted" in their names. Double click each of the items and ensure that under, "slots," slot number 3 always has an ID for 0. For me, one of the Human armor's that I selected was causing the game to crash without any error messages. I did not make any changes to the items for dwarfs, giants, gloves, or boots because I was not sure if slot number 3 acted the same for those items.
Save your changes. When you log back into Perisno your crafting menu should have blank items once more and not crash.

Seems like the dev's made a small error when importing in one of the items under the list of armors. Hope this helps.
Or at least is there anything you can remember about it (what faction it belonged to, was it some plate armor or light leather armor or...?)
Or maybe you still have a "broken" save and you can tell me its ID?
