Not really pointless given how simple it is to host a local server lol
Also ngl the workshop being bloated with neat little scripts is very much preferrable over a lot of other stuff lol
Okay, lets imagine that im a multiplayer player. That never makes lobby and join alredy existing one. (becuase host it by yourself with bots have a big chance of not getting players at all
And most of my workshop compatable with player's local/official servers? (im not playing versus because its, a pretty messy sh1thole).
And there a man, what can't emulate audio playback on player side? We have VOX mod man. What stopping a dude to make the same thing but with custom voicelines lol?
I do agree that it bloats the workshop page, but there isn't that much that can be done about it. The only thing I can think of is creating a collection and unlisting all but the newest mod in order to not have them show up on the workshop page. You could still get them by going to the collection.
I do find that this one deserves front page. Stuff that isn't possible with the normal talker is what I find far more interesting. I also find that giving people the option as to which talker features they want is good as opposed to all or nothing.
Knowing how fun modded servers are (nobody likes it). I don't think that ppl are getting fun out of it. I prefer vanila only - because again. I can mod game myself. But how then VOX triggers literaly everyone's voicelines then? I seen some ppl spamming with this sh1t so its annoying
You're welcome!
You're thinking of vocalizers, which are one of the few exceptions (mainly because it's just manually playing voicelines) and aren't comparable to custom code adding new dialogue functions
Also there are plenty of custom servers that are just running vanilla gameplay (like for playing custom/community-made campaigns), and it's incredibly easy to host one yourself given local hosting is literally a default menu option
Its doesn't answer, its weak excuse.
It's not an excuse, I explained the misconceptions you had and offered a potential solution
