Yes, but you forget that Dragonbone armor needs both the bones AND scales.
So coloured Dragonbone armor is possible, it just be around areas where scales are visible.
But I agree, I didn't thought that dragonbone is made of scales and bones and it would be great to see more colorful versions of this armor (especially if it was prettier than original). Butmaking scales visible demands changing meshes and creating new ones and it would take much more time, considering I'm a newbie in modding (this is my first mod, you can check my items in workshop) and in 3D graphics too.
It's a wonderful idea, but first I'll try to fix that problem with DLC's. (again, I'm very sorry)
Then all dragonscales would have their stats lower, remaining light and instead of 3 heavy dragonscales 6 new dragonplates would appear.
But it isn't definetly thing for next update.
Which the author might not be able to do since he would have to change the meshes on some parts of the armor so that scales are visible since Dragonplate armor requires both bones and scales of dragons to make.
Currently, it is beyond the current skill of the mod author.
I already began to sculpt it over male model (female version will look very similar, as the armor is based on actual plate armors).

Serpentine scale armor is in plans.
