You've got to save your game in such a way that you can get back any helo that crashes or gets shot down. I failed to do this early in the scenario, so now I'm suffering from the lack of the Ghost Hawk transport. Don't let it happen to you. Also save your game before doing anything that involves danger to your AIs. When they're dead they're gone.
