Hi yes I have done that but when I enter the command in console it does not recognize the command. This game is so great I want to continue if possible. Thanks again for the help

Even tried to figure out the lights order to be able to solve it but the lights are random.....

You need to enter it in the HL:A console.

What do you do about Jeff?

I can see you need to get the red card from him and throw it through the window to activate the scanner.

But it's impossible to take it from him.

The card doesn't react to gravity gloves and if you get within arms reach you get a scripted death trigger.

I'm assuming there was a unique and exact method that i'm missing, what do I do?

Honestly, the thought never crossed my mind even once, the main game itself and all the best custom maps have their own take on Jeff and all of them have me conditions to keep my hand over my mouth / gas mask on and stay quiet....So no where in my thought process did I ever think to fire my gun at him, thanks

Exit the game
Change your launch options for Half-Life: Alyx by right-clicking the game in your Steam Library and going to properties.
Add the following string to the launch options box at the bottom of the new window and then close it:
-console -vconsole
Launch the game
Get back to the part you were having issues
Hit the ~ key on your actual keyboard and the console will pop up
Type in ent_fire 596_ctrl3_light_success trigger and hit Enter
Hit ~ again to close the console (likely not necessary)
You should be all set now

Thanks, @Skummeh! I got fixed the broken monitor and got all the way to syncing the shaft (that sounds bad). I can't quite tell what you did in your video, though, as the dial is off screen mostly. But I'll keep trying.

If you need help syncing your shafts (lol) then check the other discussion thread which has hints and a cheat to do it as well.
