Yes, the floor in Tennant's interior had grating where fire could believably erupt from, Not really any logical locations for fire in Smith MkII/Capaldi MkI. Maybe just sparking and smoking controls, there'd be less lag too probably.

Indeed it was, but it was just a fire in the central column with red lighting, I think this discussion is in favour of something more dramatic.

There will be more damage in the interior when it explodes.

could there be an affect where if you step in fire you actuly burn

you could have some sparks around the console room and when completly destroyed the console room goes darker like it is broken

It hasn't happened YET they probably didn't fo all that for a trailer, that'd be like cheating the viewers.

That was for Series 8, which has been and gone. That is probably what was going on before the TARDIS crashed in 19th Century London.
