I'm having this issue as well but I have found for me that it only happens if you try to go back through the gate during the same connection. I've found that it will happen if you approach the gate within a certain distance on either side. Fortunately, since you are put several feet in front of the destination gate, it shouldn't pose a problem if you do not turn around and approach the gate or walk backwards into it. Just wait for connection to close and then establish a new one to go back through and you should be fine.
