Cannot Learn Compel Spell
There a confirmed bug in patch 1.4.0 that somehow prevents players from learning the custom "compel" spell from spellbooks. Players are still able to cast the spell from the book, but I will try to find the cause of this bug and fix it in the next patch.

There is a glitch with the compel book in general. You can't equip it off of the hotbar /and/ you can't read it. You have to equip it manually in your inventory.
