stuff with this unfortunate restriction.
I think the problem is that Small Ships are by design small and a lot of people might think that means they have to be fighters. However there is no such restriction.
I'm currently trying to build a large pirate ship out of Small Ship blocks only. It gives a lot more control over what you are building as well as detail to the build. I realise that past some point I'll probably start having FPS problems but I don't plan to go over the top in size. It already has a hangar with 5 small block thick walls that can contain up to 9 basic fighters (from the "Easy Start" maps) and no problems yet.
I have a fairly decent machine so I can do this kind of thing which is why I usually prefer working out of Small Ship blocks however I keep running into these great mods that are limited to large ship only. I actually tried to modify this mod to allow for small ship building but it didn't work.
I downloaded the mod separately (so I'd stay subbed incase the feature was officially implemented) and modified the CubeBlocks.sbc so that all blocks were Small Ship blocks, changed the size and offset so it'd fit the models more closely ingame but once ingame when everything looked fine and I tried to place them I kept getting the sound from when you can't place there (even though the bounding box was green).
So Idk what I missed but I'd really love this for small ships.
That mod only changes vanilla block compatibility.
