to gather devotion just place a gold idol and wait a few days and boom, devotion, pray at the idol to gather it.

like chang Said said like Devotion generate from Golden Idol once in few days you also get devotion from you follower if you defeated a boss but fastest way is to take over Pig Village
make sure you wall it off so they pass by Golden idol I get alot of devotion this way
