Ah hmm, yeah I think I remember.
I may have some idea of what could be causing it, (Unused custom cubemap) but its still very strange you are the only one I have heard to ever have this issue.
I forget, did turning mat_specular to 0 fix it at all? That would at least verify its what I think it is.
Otherwise, maybe somethings wrong with your install of Team Fortress 2? Try verifying the cache of it, maybe its trying to find some files thats missing.
I can try to push a small update later with a "fix" but I dont think its gonna help much
(Was it Set to 1 or set to 0?)
