I have a question
I would post as a regular comment, but it wont let me as I don't own Zomboid on Steam, I have the GOG version.

Is it an easy fix like a simple config edit that is done to make the hats compatible with fluffy's hair mod? I ask because I edited my download of Sharks Military and Sharks Army Surplus gear (fixed the MOPP suits and gas mask having no weight, and made it so insulation goes down a bit on bdu jackets when rolling the sleeves, in addition I tweaked the Insulation and water resistance to all BDUs) Anyway, I'm afraid if I use your mod it might overwrite my changes on my version?

You can use your fix and my mod together with no problems. Insulation and weight and other stats contained in scripts folder in TXT files (which you probably already know, you changed them). I edited XML files in another folder. So, my mod doesnt have TXT stats-related files to overwrite your own.
But i can't be 100% sure. It's zomboid afterall.

I'll test it out, if nothing else it should be safe to remove if it causes an issue.

I tried it out, downloaded it through the steam cmd promt, I can't subscribe since I don't own the steam version. When I downloaded it, it has the same mod folder name SMUI, rather than dropping the whole thing into my zomboid mods folder and overwriting I just copied over all the hat files and replaced them. Launched the game, and it works perfectly and didn't overwrite my manual tweaks.

Fantastic mod, I can finally wear my watch cap with grown out hair, no more shaving my head for the winter months so I can wear the watch cap without clipping.
