Hido Clan Advice?
So I tried Akari's path, and it went swimmingly (Managed to break Lanius' Legion despite them having vastly superior numbers). Hido's path on the other hand has been a nightmare. Reno joined Vault City, which took a campaign that should have taken a few minutes into a slog. Now, in the first few months beginning the civil war, I have lost all my manpower, Akari mopped the floor with the Isotopes, and while they can't push, I can't push either without possibly killing some of my own divisions. While I have the equipment, I don't have the people to use them.

So, is their a better way to prepare for this route? Specific focus tree paths to set my opposition before the civil war?

There is ways to make it easier.
Try choosing to not make Kaga an advisor and to not burn down the Vipers

Just done another run following the creators advice (thank you again!) and can agree - let Kaga live and do NOT burn down the vipers shrine, when the civil war breaks out the vipers and the sons of kaga will rise up again and heavily break up and distract Akari’s territory. You can swoop in with whatever soldiers you have and pick your targets instead of desperately holding out. Good luck!!

Hope that the NCR declares war on them.

Building a fort line doesn't work because your divisions can't get to it before they're overrun. You should get the lion's share of the equipment, so make more divisions immediately, because you will have fewer factories so she'll catch up.
