Just as someone whose been grinding this mod to Ascension 20 (I haven't even beaten Ascension 3 with any of the normal cast yet I'm at A8 lmao), I've ran into this combo and have been able to get the exhaust to go off. Also just went into a custom run w/ shiny card modifier to check, and the interaction indeed works on my end. Maybe you should check for yourself as well?
