(and you can always ask the authority - guild master and such in every settlement. And they'll tell you if there's any companions and where they are.)

Thank you so much for your reply, I feel dumb for have never clicked the button lol, but I followed the directions the authority gave me (found the big ol statue) and she(?) is still no where to be found in that area

Try looking elsewhere. She was moved a few times in the nightly patches, the description on steam might not match. (I'm not sure now)
