For context I had made a new character and visited an old world for some starter gear, added this mod, made a new world and found some guardians. For testing the mod I did some of their request, made some a home, and hired Brutus (trough battle). I then made a new character to try a different race, went to that same old world for gear and was asked if I wanted to have a guardian as permanent companion (buddy) wherein I selected Brutus. I then made another new world and played for hours with no issues.

Then I went back to the main menu to add more resource packs and mods. After browsing and subscribing to a handful of workshop items on both Terraria workshops the game crashed when I backed out of the mods screen. When I reload the game and world I encountered the issues I posted in the main chat.

While the initial crash in the main menu is unrelated (as far as I can tell anyway), I do have that log if you want to look at it to.

This was already answered.
It was due to a incompatibility with Pal Mod

I posted this just before I found that out on my own.

I'm having an issue where I can't select a buddy. I use the portrait, but nothing happens when I click on Fluffles' name. Please help. If it helps, I typically have Amulet of Many Minions enabled. I also play on Journey Mode, & I have Pal Mod disabled.

There should be a text on the bottom of the window called "Pick Companion" or something.
Click it.

Okay, but the window doesn't seem to fit on my screen and it's off-center. I'm playing on a Microsoft Surface laptop, if that helps.

That's probably the issue. Could you take a screenshot of the screen and post here so I can see the problem in action?

every time a companion joins the world the Lunar Veil Legacy dialogue repeats.

I have no idea what that is.

Reminds me of Starbound.
I believe that might be because the companions are masked as the player character to work, and is causing that to trigger.

I'm not sure what I could do on my side regarding that.

How did you beat brutus in combat? Everything ive tried to do so far he says it cheating, even when all I did is hit him with a 7 meelee damage spear
