What to do with ore and scrap metal?
Maybe I just skipped something, but since there is no Refinery (so far?), and Survival kit functions are limited to process stone, but can craft Paint gun from ingots... What could be a source for ingots? Is there way to use found Scrap metal or mined ores?

I guess intention is you get ingots by disassembling components, which means you need to find basic assembler first to do that. I haven't found the basic assembler yet, so I'm not 100% sure.

About what (else) to do with scrap.. I use it as counterweight in my forklifts.

To make a note: On my ~20th day I have found a large Basic Assembler
