what if you are at max orbs? - nothing should happen
what if you try to go slightly over max? - weaker debuff
what if you first add temp until (almost) max, then perm ones? overflowing perm slots should reduce debuff counter, but who wants to code that?
its also pointless
after using X card you shouldnt have energy left for other cards using orbs
so read(if you want) and ignore this post
power card that activates some effect when fire orb is evoked
currently overflowing orbs only deal 3 damage,
orb specialized deck(blue) main effect is 3 damage per turn and 8 on evoke
Im not saying that fire orbs need to be as strong, as lightning, you already have lots of card benefiting from orbs, but
It would be interesting to get another effect, like applying 1 random status effect (weak, vuln, frail) to enemy hit by orb or healing for 1 HP(healing card already exists, so this one isnt needed)
edit: upgraded version could also apply smoke and add 1 exhaustable eclipse card (probably random)
when evokin fire orb you get some buff
after reaching 5?(balancing needed) stack, something beneficial happens, like getting 1 energy or 1 strength and stacks are removed
you might want to keep orbs as decaying buff for other cards, with 3 damage as consolation prize
and its still perfectly fine
Yeah I like this idea, the Flame Orbs at their core are suppose to be decaying buff that can be used with other cards with the 3 damage being a nice addition if you missed out on using them. Having a power increase the evoke damage by a bit is a nice addition that would just always be helpful so making the damage not too crazy is something I'll have to test out
relic that adds knightly tag to basic strikes and defends, does nothing on its own, but allows easy combo effect, if you have regular knightly cards, additionally, since knighly cards are affected by Silver's head, it could increase their stats (there is already base game relic that increase damage of strikes)
TBH there is not enough of knightly cards and they are all common, so I found myself taking other cards or even skipping, despite having horse relic
speaking of knightly, power card that activates extra effect on combo, like getting 3 vigour
I think this could be a fun addition, just the random mechanic of it applying a random debuff I can see being really fun to play around with. It applying smoke and giving a card might be a little left field when it comes to some of the other debuffs it could apply and would also depend if I keep the eclipse cards the way they are but its something worth trying out
Yeah I was designing a card around the idea of using Flame Orbs as stacks but decided to wait till after the release to test it out, I think it's a great addition as it allows players to be rewarded for generating more orb slots and using more orbs while also giving them the risk of using them all up at once for a buff, or let them ride and use other cards to buff them. Definitely look out for a card like this in the future
All suggestions are welcome and are always helpful no matter how big or small they are. Even if they don't make it into the mod just thinking about suggestions can lead to other ones being made so I appreciate any discussion or feedback surrounding the mod at all, didn't even think the mod would get nearly this much attention so again thank you for giving suggestions and feedback
I have an event that can occur that converts all Strikes and Defends into their Knightly Variants (It's one of the events I show on the mod page). But I wouldn't blame you if you've never seen it as I made it only appear on the Second Act of a run because I thought it might be too game breaking to find at any point. I will probably be releasing an update today making the event more available so that its not nearly as rare as it is right now since I don't think its actually that game breaking
there is slight problem with it, you lose strikes, so all basegame relics/cards that rely/improve strikes become useless
on the other hand vampires event does the same(its also exclusive to act 2), so I think thats ok
