During that time tv culture was big in the US, primetime television was an entire industry of its own as well as entire channels dedicated to celebrity gossip, yes some people don't watch tv ofc, but people have common sense and would try to get information somehow with tv being the only way with the phones cut, that said i also do like the idea of someone just living their life normally and seeing a zombie for the first time, so I have no complains really, either way is cool, your mods awesome either way.
edit: keep in mind the waco raid was only a few months before the knox event, the waco raid was very significant for American's trust in the government, which is why i changed the small town cop lines to have resentment for the feds that left them, and previously screwed over the average civilian
