This sounds like the host has connection problems. Have someone else host it.

this issue occurs cause your friend has a hentai model you cant download cause lfd2 thinks its a dedicated server if you open console youll see something like in green "hentaijiggly_tiddies downloading" but you obviously cant download his broken models or whatever its trying to download. Either have your friend sv_consistency 0. Or you yourself in console or settings cl_downloadfilter none to join your friend. Be warned tho you cant connect for a reason probably those hentai tiddies got bigger hitboxes and that charger will grab you from further away etc. Need to have a deep understanding of the engine if you wanna host with custom models and possibly broken hitboxes.

We can all play through main campaign together with no issues, so I do not see how it would be a connection issue
