Attaching this to any plane I try causes it to spin in circles and explode before I even have the chance to get in.

If I weld it at a distance so that doesn't happen, the plane is completely uncontrollable.

You said it. Thanks to the infinite maps, the vehicle speed no longer has to be restricted by the size limit of most other maps like Flatgrass and Bigcity.

What I do is attach rlly powerful thrusters to the back of the vehicle to make it go faster without it spinning out of control (only really works with planes)

Yeah For me I typed in 30,000 into the thruster boost power so it could stay as one thruster for more stable flight

What do you do for planes without a flat polygon at their midline?

For planes without a flat side, get something with similar weight to the plane and weld it to that part, or make multiple thrusters so the center of thrust is inline with the center of the prop/mass

After testing it a bit, I have found attaching a *wiremod* thruster to the back of a LFS star wars lambda shuttle I was able to achieve a speed of over 2000, basically bringing me from spawn to the mountains on the other side of the large valley in under a minute

Gmod hasn't really supported the concept of "actually going fast" until this addon released.
