Almost definitely a statue of Moloch, which was believed to be a Canaanite deity that demanded child sacrifice. There's a lot of debate as to whether that's true, as scholars aren't quite sure exactly what "Moloch" truly means. Regardless of the truth, the theory that moloch is a deity does make for more entertaining stories.
